It is particularly aimed at patients aged 18 years and older with moderate to severe active ulcerative colitis, and caution is required for patients over 65 years old, those at high cardiovascular risk, and those with a risk of malignant tumors. Additionally, this medication should not be used in combination with powerful immunosuppressants, so it is essential to consult a specialist for a safe treatment plan. This medication is used to improve symptoms in patients with ulcerative colitis who have insufficient efficacy from existing treatments.

This medication carries a high risk of serious infections; therefore, it should be discontinued immediately if symptoms of infection appear. Before and during treatment, tests for tuberculosis should be conducted, and if latent tuberculosis is present, treatment must be initiated first. Patients over 65 years or those at risk of cardiovascular issues should use this medication with particular caution, and specific dosages should not be used. This medication may increase the risk of malignant tumors, so it should be administered cautiously to patients with a history of cancer. There is a possibility of thrombosis, and treatment should be sought immediately if symptoms of thrombosis occur; patients with risk factors should use this with caution. Patients with allergies to this medication or any of its ingredients, active infections, severe liver dysfunction, or pregnant women should not use it.
