This medication is used in cases where nutrition cannot be supplied orally or through the gastrointestinal tract in children over 2 years of age and adults. It helps improve the body's nutritional status by appropriately supplying calories, amino acids, essential fatty acids, and omega-3 fatty acids. Through this, it regulates nutritional imbalances in patients and supports health recovery. Nutritional support is administered intravenously to ensure that patients receive the necessary essential nutrients on time. Consequently, this medicine is used to effectively manage the nutritional status.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

Children over 12 years and adults - Administer 0.6-0.9 g/kg (as amino acids; nitrogen 0.10-0.15 g/kg) or 0.9-1.6 g/kg (as nitrogen 0.15-0.25 g/kg) per day - Administer 13-31 mL/kg per day (amino acids 0.6-1.6 g/kg, total calories 14-35 kcal/kg) - The infusion rate must not exceed 2.0 mL/kg per hour -

Precautions

This medication must be used under medical supervision, and administration must be stopped immediately if allergic reactions such as fever, chills, rash, or difficulty breathing occur. When used in conjunction with intravenous calcium-containing preparations, a precipitate may form, so they should not be infused simultaneously using the same infusion device, and the infusion line must be thoroughly cleaned before and after use. This drug may be risky in premature and low-birth-weight infants as its lipid components may not be well eliminated from the body. Patients with allergies to fish, eggs, soybeans, peanuts, or those with severe liver, kidney, or blood disorders, as well as those in acute shock, should not use this medication. Patients with specific conditions such as renal failure, diabetes, or impaired liver function should use this drug cautiously, and blood glucose, electrolyte, liver enzyme levels, etc., should be monitored frequently during administration. Care should be taken not to allow blood lipid levels to rise too high during administration, and dosages should be adjusted or stopped if any abnormal symptoms occur. Side effects such as hyperlipidemia, allergic reactions, nausea, vomiting, headaches may occur, so abnormal symptoms should be closely observed. This drug has not been established for safety in pregnant or breastfeeding women, and must only be used when absolutely necessary under a physician's discretion. Because it can affect blood test results, it is advisable to draw blood 5-6 hours after administration when conducting tests. In case of overdose, slow down the infusion rate or stop it, as there are no specific antidotes, supportive care according to symptoms is necessary. This drug should be stored below 25 degrees Celsius in a sealed container to protect it from air or moisture, and must be used immediately after mixing or within 24 hours if refrigerated.

Mild side effects

Loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, increased plasma liver enzyme levels, thrombophlebitis, hypotension, hypertension, slight elevation in body temperature, chills, headache, dizziness, skin rash, urticaria, flushing, heat sensation or cooling sensation, pain (in neck, back, bones, chest, waist), nausea, vomiting, chills, sweating, temperature elevation, hyperglycemia, constipation, diarrhea, indigestion, edema, general weakness, hypoglycemia, frequent urination, phlebitis, extravasation at the infusion site,
