This medication is used intravenously for rapid effectiveness when there is pain or high fever. It is particularly suitable for treating moderate pain that occurs post-surgery for a short period. It is also used to relieve fever symptoms caused by high fever for a short time. Effective treatment is possible even when oral administration is not feasible via intravenous administration. It helps to quickly improve pain and fever.

How it is given

Adult administration

Adults weighing 50 kg or more 4 times a day, 1000 mg of acetaminophen per dose, with a minimum dosing interval of about 4 hours. The maximum daily dosage should not exceed 4 grams. Adults weighing 50 kg or more but under 33 kg can take approximately 15 mg/kg of acetaminophen per administration, with a minimum dosing interval of 4 hours. The maximum daily dosage should not exceed 60 mg/kg or 4 grams.

Precautions

Symptoms of liver damage can usually appear between 2 days to 6 days after administration, so careful observation is required. People who consume large amounts of alcohol daily should consult their doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication, as combining it with alcohol increases the risk of liver damage. Rarely, severe rashes, hives, blisters, or serious allergic reactions on the skin may occur, and if such symptoms appear, administration should be immediately stopped and medical personnel should be informed. This medication should not be administered to patients who are hypersensitive to acetaminophen or this drug, or who have specific diseases, such as severe liver, kidney, heart diseases, blood disorders, peptic ulcer patients, or patients with a history of aspirin-induced asthma.
