Precautions

This medication is primarily used to improve symptoms such as enuresis by regulating fluid excretion. However, while taking this medication, fluid intake should be restricted to when thirst is felt. Excessive fluid intake can lower sodium concentration in the body, potentially leading to coma or severe side effects. Additionally, this medication should be avoided in patients with certain conditions. For example, it should not be used in those with allergies to this drug or its components, severe renal impairment, existing hyponatremia, or genetic conditions like lactose intolerance. Patients with high blood pressure, heart disease, chronic kidney disease, pregnant or potentially pregnant women, children, and the elderly should use this medication with extra caution as they are at a higher risk of experiencing hyponatremia or fluid imbalance. While taking this medication, symptoms such as headache, nausea, weight gain, and seizures may occur, and if any of these symptoms arise, immediate consultation with a physician is necessary. Moreover, this medication may interact with other drugs, so it is essential to inform medical professionals about any other medications currently being taken. Special caution is required when taken together with antidepressants, diuretics, steroids, or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should carefully consider the effects this medication may have on the fetus or newborn when deciding to use it, and it is recommended to discontinue breastfeeding if using this medication. In case of overdose, symptoms such as headache, nausea, seizures, and loss of consciousness may occur; in such cases, immediate medical attention is required.
