Precautions

This medication contains the artificial sweetener aspartame, which is broken down into phenylalanine in the body, and should not be used by patients with the genetic condition phenylketonuria. Patients with a history of severe allergic reactions or shock to this drug should not take it. It contains lactose, so patients with genetic issues such as galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should also avoid it. Patients with allergies to this drug's components or cephalosporin antibiotics, or those who have had allergic reactions to penicillin antibiotics, should use it cautiously. Patients with severely impaired kidney function may experience delayed elimination of this drug and need to be cautious. Patients who have difficulty with oral intake, those receiving non-oral nutrition, elderly patients, and those in poor general health should be monitored as symptoms of vitamin K deficiency may appear. This medication can rarely cause serious allergic reactions such as shock or anaphylaxis. If symptoms such as discomfort, oral disturbances, dyspnea, dizziness, diarrhea, tinnitus, or excessive sweating occur, use should be stopped immediately. If any hypersensitivity reactions such as skin rash, hives, itching, or fever occur, the medication should be discontinued and treatment sought. Severe colitis can occur rarely in the digestive system, and if abdominal pain or diarrhea occurs, use should be stopped immediately. If respiratory symptoms such as fever, cough, or difficulty breathing occur, the medication should be stopped, and appropriate treatment should be sought. Blood tests may show changes in blood cell counts, and in the nervous system, if kidney function is poor, behavioral changes or seizures may occur. Serious skin reactions may rarely occur, so skin condition should be closely monitored. Regular testing is needed as it may affect liver and kidney function. This drug can cause infections such as stomatitis or candidiasis. Bleeding tendencies due to vitamin K deficiency or signs of vitamin B group deficiency can also rarely appear. This medication should only be used for the minimum duration necessary to prevent the emergence of resistant bacteria, and past allergic reactions should be confirmed. Care should be taken during activities such as driving or operating machinery as dizziness may occur. Blood tests should be conducted to monitor white blood cell count if used for over 10 days. Patients with decreased kidney function require dosage adjustments, and should stop taking it immediately if seizures occur. Care should be taken when using this drug alongside diuretics or aminoglycoside antibiotics as there is an increased risk of kidney function deterioration. When used with certain medications, blood concentration of this drug may change, so consultation with a doctor is necessary. Safety has not been established during pregnancy, so it should be used only when necessary; nursing women should discontinue breastfeeding. It is advisable not to use it in newborns or infants under 2 months old as safety has not been confirmed. Elderly patients should use it cautiously due to decreased bodily function and bleeding risks, with attention to dosage and interval. This medication may affect the results of some clinical tests, so care is needed when interpreting test results. After preparing the suspension as prescribed, it should be stored in a tightly closed container and used within 2 weeks, shaking well before use.
