This medication is used to treat moderate to severe Alzheimer's disease.

How to take

Adult dose

This medication should be taken orally once daily at the same time each day. If necessary, it can be administered twice daily. The increment method for dosage is to increase by 5 mg weekly for 3 weeks until the maintenance dose is reached. Precautions

This drug should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to its components, severe liver dysfunction, or kidney dysfunction. Particularly in cases of significantly decreased kidney function, administration should be avoided. Care should be taken when administering to patients with epilepsy or those with a history of seizures, as well as to those with a predisposition to seizures. Furthermore, taking this medication in combination with other NMDA antagonists may increase side effects, so co-administration should be avoided. Patients with factors or conditions that increase the pH of urine should have their drug effects and side effects monitored closely. The safety of this medication has not been adequately established in patients with recent myocardial infarction, congestive heart failure, or uncontrolled hypertension, so it should be used cautiously in these patients.
