Additionally, patients with diabetes, a history of allergic hypersensitivity reactions, a history of skin diseases caused by beta-blockers, patients with hypotension or renal failure, patients with unstable cardiac function, patients with severely reduced renal function, the elderly, and patients taking certain medications should use this drug with caution. This drug affects the central nervous system, which may cause dizziness, headache, and fatigue, and can rarely lead to hallucinations or mental disturbances. It can also impact the cardiovascular system, resulting in a slowed heart rate, heart failure, lowered blood pressure, or shock, necessitating regular cardiac function tests. In patients with impaired renal function, renal function may deteriorate, and respiratory disease patients may experience worsening dyspnea. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, diarrhea, and abdominal pain may occur. Skin reactions such as allergic rashes or itching, sweating, and abnormalities in blood or liver function have also been reported. This medication may complicate blood sugar control in diabetic patients, so blood sugar should be monitored regularly. Long-term use of this drug requires regular cardiac function tests and evaluations of liver and kidney function, especially because discontinuation should be done slowly under medical supervision, as abrupt cessation can worsen heart disease symptoms. Also, this drug may interact with other medications, so caution is needed when taken with antihypertensives, antidepressants, antiarrhythmics, insulin, and alcohol or grapefruit juice should also be avoided. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should not take this medication, and its safety has not been established in children or adolescents under 18 years old, so it is not recommended for this group. In the elderly, drug concentrations may increase due to reduced liver function, thus starting at a lower dose and careful administration is necessary. In case of overdose, severe hypotension, decreased heart rate, cardiac dysfunction, shock, and respiratory distress may occur, so immediate medical attention should be sought.
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
