How to take

Adult dose

For adults with severe infections and respiratory infections, take 2 tablets by mouth twice a day every 12 hours. In patients with renal impairment, the dosage may be reduced based on the degree of kidney function. However, this medication should not be administered to patients with severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance rate less than 30 mL/min).

Precautions

This medication is a beta-lactam antibiotic and should not be used in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to penicillin. It may be dangerous for individuals who have experienced anaphylaxis or severe skin reactions. Additionally, caution is needed in patients with concomitant viral infections such as infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia, as they may be at risk for developing rashes. Patients with liver dysfunction should also be cautious as they may experience a recurrence of liver impairment when taking this medication. Patients with liver dysfunction should be checked carefully for liver status before administration and dosage intervals should be adjusted for those with moderate or severe renal impairment. Individuals with allergic predispositions or with frequent symptoms of bronchial asthma or hives should also use it carefully. Patients who have difficulty taking orally or elderly patients, and those in poor general condition should take care as there is a risk of bleeding due to vitamin K deficiency. Patients with gastrointestinal symptoms such as vomiting or diarrhea may not absorb the medication properly. During treatment, gastrointestinal adverse reactions such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, and vomiting may occur, and in severe cases, pseudomembranous colitis may develop, so symptoms should be closely monitored. Liver enzyme levels may rise or jaundice symptoms may appear, so particularly men over 60 years old or long-term users should undergo regular liver function tests. Severe skin reactions such as rashes, itching, and in serious cases, Stevens-Johnson syndrome may occur. If such symptoms appear, discontinue use immediately and consult a physician. Rare blood abnormalities such as leukopenia and thrombocytopenia may occur, so regular blood tests may be necessary. Rarely, central nervous system symptoms such as anxiety, confusion, and seizures have been reported, so if abnormal symptoms occur, immediate medical attention is required. Kidney function may deteriorate, so kidney function should be checked regularly and discontinuation is necessary if abnormalities are found. This medication can interact with other drugs, so patients taking anticoagulants, diuretics, anti-inflammatory drugs, etc., must inform their doctor or pharmacist. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should avoid taking this medication during the first three months. Breastfeeding mothers should be cautious as diarrhea or skin reactions may occur in infants. It is not recommended for children under 12 years old or weighing less than 40 kg. Elderly patients should be careful as decreased physiological functions may lead to easier occurrence of adverse reactions, adjusting dosage and administration intervals. It is important to regularly check liver function, kidney function, and blood status during medication use to confirm any abnormalities. Overdose may lead to gastrointestinal disturbances, renal abnormalities, central nervous system symptoms, etc., and immediate medical attention should be sought for proper treatment. Store in a dry place below 25 degrees Celsius, avoiding direct sunlight.
