This medication is used in adult patients with chronic constipation whose symptoms have not improved with laxative use. It helps improve discomfort caused by chronic constipation.

How to take

Adult dose

This medication is administered orally and can be taken at any time of the day, with or without food. Adults take 2 mg once daily. Elderly patients aged 65 and over should start with an initial dosage of 1 mg once daily, and may increase to 2 mg once daily if necessary. Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. First, patients who are allergic to the active ingredient or excipients of this medication should not take it. Also, individuals with severe kidney disease requiring dialysis should not use this medication. Additionally, individuals with genetic disorders causing lactose intolerance should not take this medication. These symptoms tend to disappear within a few days after starting treatment. Occasionally, symptoms like dizziness, fatigue, and palpitations may also occur, so caution is needed. If new heart palpitations occur, it is essential to consult a doctor. In cases of severe diarrhea, the effectiveness of oral contraceptives may be reduced, so it is advisable to use additional contraceptive methods. This medication has a low potential for interactions with other drugs, but caution should be taken when used with specific medications as blood concentrations may change. Particularly, it is important to be careful when combined with drugs that may affect heart rhythm. Use of this medication is not recommended during pregnancy, and women of childbearing age should use effective contraceptives while taking it. The use of this medication is also not recommended for nursing mothers. It is advisable not to use this medication in children or adolescents under 18 years of age. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as headache, nausea, and diarrhea may occur, and treatment should be provided according to the symptoms. On the first day of taking this medication, dizziness or fatigue may occur, so caution is needed when driving or operating machinery.
