It contains lactose, so it should not be administered to patients with genetic problems such as lactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome. Patients with allergic reactions to this medication’s components or similar classes of antibiotics should avoid using it unless in special circumstances. Those with a history of allergy to penicillin antibiotics should use this medication cautiously. Patients with a constitution prone to allergic symptoms such as bronchial asthma, skin rashes, or urticaria should be administered with caution. For patients with greatly decreased renal function, dose adjustment and careful monitoring are necessary as this drug is excreted through the kidneys. Patients who have difficulty swallowing orally or are on non-oral nutrition, the elderly, or those in poor physical condition should be closely monitored for the symptoms of vitamin K deficiency. This medication can rarely cause severe allergic reactions like shock or anaphylaxis, so if symptoms such as discomfort, abnormal sensations in the mouth, shortness of breath, dizziness, diarrhea, tinnitus, or sweating occur during administration, it should be discontinued immediately. If there are allergic symptoms such as rashes, hives, itching, fever, lymphadenopathy, or arthralgia, the medication should be stopped and appropriate treatment sought. Blood tests may show eosinophilia, thrombocytopenia or thrombocytosis, and leukopenia; regular blood tests should be performed for long-term administration. In terms of the nervous system, patients with poor kidney function may experience cognitive impairment, behavioral abnormalities, or seizures requiring dose adjustment. Rarely, severe skin conditions such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome or toxic epidermal necrolysis may occur, so skin condition should be monitored closely. Liver function tests may show elevated levels, thus regular liver function testing is necessary. As kidney function may worsen, treatment should be stopped and managed if hematuria or increased serum creatinine levels are observed. Oral mucosal inflammation or candidiasis may rarely occur as a result of dysbiosis. Vitamin K deficiency may rarely lead to bleeding tendencies requiring caution. To prevent the occurrence of resistant bacteria, susceptibility tests should be performed, and it is advisable to administer the minimum necessary duration only. Comprehensive history taking and skin reaction tests before administration are recommended. Dizziness may occur during the course of medication, therefore caution is advised when driving or operating machinery. If given for more than 10 days, blood tests to check neutrophil counts are necessary. Patients with decreased kidney function should have their dosage adjusted, and if seizures occur, treatment should be terminated immediately. When used with other diuretics or certain antibiotics, kidney function may worsen, thus careful administration is required. Be cautious as the blood levels of this medication may change when used with specific drugs.
