Adult dose
This medication is taken orally in divided doses twice a day without regard to meals. 1. Neuropathic pain - Peripheral neuropathic pain: Starting dose of 150 mg once daily may be increased to 300 mg once daily within 3 to 7 days, and if necessary, it can be increased by 600 mg maximum once daily at intervals of 7 days. - Central neuropathic pain: Starting dose of 150 mg once daily may be increased to 300 mg once daily after 1 week.
Child dose
Safety and efficacy data is insufficient for children under 12 years of age and adolescents aged 12 to 17 years, so administration is not recommended.

This medication is used to treat peripheral and central neuropathic pain in adults. It is also effective as an adjunctive treatment for partial seizures in epilepsy patients, and can be used regardless of the presence of secondary generalized symptoms. It helps to alleviate pain in patients with fibromyalgia. It is used for improving various neurological and muscular related pains and seizure symptoms.

How to take

Adult dose

This medication is taken orally in divided doses twice a day without regard to meals. 1. Neuropathic pain - Peripheral neuropathic pain: Starting dose of 150 mg once daily may be increased to 300 mg once daily within 3 to 7 days, and if necessary, it can be increased by 600 mg maximum once daily at intervals of 7 days. - Central neuropathic pain: Starting dose of 150 mg once daily may be increased to 300 mg once daily after 1 week.

Child dose

Safety and efficacy data is insufficient for children under 12 years of age and adolescents aged 12 to 17 years, so administration is not recommended.

Precautions

This medication may increase the risk of suicidal thoughts or behavior; if depressive symptoms or changes in mood occur while taking this medication, consult a doctor immediately. Patients with allergies to any ingredients in this medication or with certain genetic lactose intolerance should not use it. Diabetic patients should be cautious as weight gain after taking this medication may require adjustment of blood sugar control medications. If symptoms of angioedema occur, discontinue this medication immediately and inform medical personnel. Elderly patients should be particularly cautious at the beginning of treatment due to the risk of falls from dizziness and sedation. Temporary visual blurriness or changes in vision may occur, and should be reported if symptoms appear. Abruptly discontinuing this medication may cause withdrawal symptoms such as insomnia, headache, and anxiety; therefore, dosage should be adjusted according to a doctor's guidance. Patients with a history of drug abuse may have a higher risk of dependence on this medication, so it should be used cautiously. Patients with impaired kidney function must have their dose adjusted, and those with heart disease should also be cautious. Taking this medication with other drugs that have central nervous system depressant effects may pose a risk of respiratory depression; inform your doctor. During early pregnancy, there is a risk of fetal abnormalities, so use during pregnancy should be avoided, and women of childbearing potential should use effective contraception. Breastfeeding women should consult a doctor or discontinue breastfeeding, as this medication may be passed into breast milk. Be cautious when engaging in hazardous activities such as driving or operating machinery, as dizziness and sedation can increase the risk of accidents. Overdose may lead to severe drowsiness, confusion, or seizures; seek medical attention immediately.
