This medication is effective against a variety of bacteria including Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, among others. It is primarily indicated for complicated skin and soft tissue infections, community-acquired pneumonia, acute bacterial exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, and acute sinusitis. It is also used in urinary tract infections, including chronic bacterial prostatitis and pyelonephritis. However, since fluoroquinolones can be associated with serious adverse reactions, it should only be used in cases where alternative treatment options are not available for acute sinusitis, acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, uncomplicated urinary tract infections, and complicated skin infections. This medication aids in the treatment of various bacterial infection diseases.
