How to take

Adult dose

In adults, initiate treatment with naftopidil at 25mg once daily. If the effect is insufficient, gradually increase the dose to 50~75mg at intervals of 1~2 weeks, and administer orally once daily after a meal. Adjust the dose as appropriate according to symptoms; the maximum daily dose is 75mg.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients who have had hypersensitivity reactions to its components. Additionally, since it contains lactose, it should not be administered to patients with congenital galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption. It should be used with caution in patients with impaired liver function, as blood drug concentration may increase. There is insufficient experience with this medication in patients with severe heart weakness or severe cerebrovascular disorders, so caution is needed. Elderly patients may experience delayed drug elimination due to liver function decline, so care should be taken to closely observe their condition during administration. Patients taking PDE5 inhibitors should be cautious, as combining these with this medication may result in excessively low blood pressure. Patients with orthostatic hypotension should be careful, as symptoms may worsen due to blood pressure reduction. During treatment with this medication, side effects such as dizziness, lightheadedness, low blood pressure, and abdominal discomfort may occur. If symptoms are severe, consult a healthcare provider. Serious side effects such as liver dysfunction, jaundice, and syncope may appear, so if any unusual symptoms occur, immediate discontinuation and medical attention are required. Overdose may lead to dangerously low blood pressure; therefore, prescribed dosages must be adhered to, especially taking care with blood pressure changes upon standing. Dizziness or lightheadedness may occur at the initiation of treatment or with dose increases, so caution is advised for potentially hazardous activities such as working from heights or driving. If taken with antihypertensive medications, blood pressure changes need to be closely monitored, and dosage adjustments may be necessary. This medication is a symptomatic treatment; therefore, if it is ineffective, other treatments such as surgery should be considered. Patients taking diuretics or antihypertensives may experience increased hypotensive effects, so caution is required during administration. Use with PDE5 inhibitors may result in excessively low blood pressure; thus, consultation with a healthcare provider is essential. Elderly patients are at higher risk of side effects due to impaired liver function, so their condition must be carefully monitored during administration. Store out of reach of children, and instruct patients to take the medication after removing it from the packaging. Swallowing the packaging whole may cause damage to the esophageal mucosa or severe complications. This medication lowers blood pressure, so it is essential to inform healthcare providers of any current medications and health conditions before use.
