Adult dose

For optimal absorption, take after meals. Adults and children aged 12 years and older Most infections: Administer 250mg 2 times daily. Severe lower respiratory tract infections, pneumonia, severe infections, or suspected infections caused by less susceptible organisms: Administer 500mg 2 times daily. Urinary tract infections: Administer 250mg 2 times daily. Uncomplicated gonorrhea: Administer 1g as a single dose. Lyme disease: Administer 500mg 2 times daily for 14 days (10~21 days). Patients with renal impairment ≥ 30 mL/min/1.73m2: No dose adjustment required (standard dose: 125mg-500mg 2 times daily) 10 - 29 mL/min/1.73m2: Administer a standard single dose every 24 hours < 10 mL/min/1.73m2: Administer a standard single dose every 48 hours Patients receiving hemodialysis: Administer an additional standard single dose at the end of each dialysis session

Child dose

Children under 12 years of age, most infections: Administer 125mg 2 times daily. Children aged 2 years and older with otitis media or severe infections: Administer 250mg 2 times daily. Children under 12 years of age, Lyme disease: Administer 250mg 2 times daily for 14 days (10~21 days). Infants under 3 months: There is insufficient experience with use.

This medication should not be used in patients with a known allergy to cephalosporin antibiotics. Patients with a history of hypersensitivity to penicillin or other beta-lactam antibiotics, those with a family history of bronchial asthma or skin allergy symptoms, patients with severely impaired kidney function, those who have difficulty swallowing or are elderly, and patients in poor overall health should be treated cautiously. Mild transient side effects are common while using this medication, and symptoms such as skin rash, headache, dizziness, gastrointestinal disturbances, and diarrhea are frequently reported. Rarely, serious skin reactions or blood abnormalities, hepatitis, and worsening kidney function may occur, so if any unusual symptoms arise, it is essential to consult healthcare professionals immediately. Allergic reactions or shock symptoms may occur while using this medication; therefore, treatment should be discontinued immediately and appropriate care should be obtained if any symptoms develop. Long-term use of antibiotics can lead to excessive overgrowth of Candida species or other resistant organisms; thus, it is important to administer the minimum required duration. If gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea or abdominal pain persist, the possibility of pseudomembranous colitis should be considered, and treatment should be stopped, followed by further investigation. This medication may cause dizziness; caution is needed when driving or operating machinery. Elderly individuals may experience side effects more easily due to declining physiological function and may face an increased risk of bleeding due to vitamin K deficiency, so monitoring dosage and intervals of administration is necessary. This medication can affect the results of certain clinical tests, so it is vital to inform the healthcare provider of its use during examinations. In case of overdose, severe side effects such as seizures may occur, so careful adherence to prescribed dosages is crucial. If necessary, blood dialysis or peritoneal dialysis can be utilized to lower drug concentrations. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and stored securely in its original container to prevent misuse or deterioration of quality.
