This medication is a penicillin antibiotic and should not be administered to patients with a history of specific allergies. In particular, patients who have had hypersensitivity reactions to this medication or beta-lactam antibiotics should not use it. Moreover, patients with infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia have a higher risk of rashes and should avoid use. Patients with a history of liver dysfunction or jaundice caused by this medication or penicillin-related drugs should not take it. This medication contains lactose, so patients with lactose intolerance or related genetic disorders should not take it. Patients with impaired liver function should be cautious about deterioration of liver function when using this medication. Patients with moderate to severe renal impairment may require adjustments to the dosing interval due to increases in drug concentration. Patients who are prone to allergies or frequently display symptoms such as asthma, rashes, or hives should use this medication with caution. Also, elderly patients or those in poor general condition should be monitored for vitamin K deficiency symptoms. This medication may cause gastrointestinal side effects such as diarrhea, dyspepsia, vomiting, and abdominal pain. In severe cases, serious symptoms such as pseudomembranous colitis or acute pancreatitis may occur. If these symptoms occur, discontinue the medication immediately and consult a doctor. Abnormal liver function may lead to elevations in liver enzyme levels like AST, ALT, or cause hepatitis and jaundice, especially reported more frequently in elderly males and with prolonged use. Rarely, severe allergic reactions, skin rashes, or serious skin responses such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome may occur. In such cases, discontinue administration immediately and follow medical personnel's instructions. Hematological abnormalities such as leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, and anemia may occur rarely, so if abnormal symptoms arise, examination and treatment are necessary. Central nervous system effects such as anxiety, confusion, and seizures are rarely reported, and caution should also be taken regarding worsening renal function. During antibiotic use, it's important to adhere to the treatment duration and conduct susceptibility testing to prevent the occurrence of resistant bacteria. Observe the patient carefully after administration, as severe allergic shock may occur in cases of hypersensitivity. Long-term use may promote the growth of non-susceptible bacteria; therefore, use beyond 14 days requires caution. Patients with decreased liver and kidney function should be monitored with regular examinations. During pregnancy, it is advisable to avoid using this medication, especially in the first three months. During breastfeeding, the drug may partly transfer to breast milk, possibly causing diarrhea or hypersensitivity reactions in the infant, so caution is advised. Safety has not been established in preterm infants or newborns (under 2 months). The elderly should adjust dosage and intervals carefully due to the increased risk of side effects caused by physiological decline. This medication may interact with other drugs, especially anticoagulants, other antibiotics, anti-inflammatory medications, and immunosuppressants, so consultation with a doctor or pharmacist is necessary for appropriate adjustments and monitoring. In case of overdose, gastrointestinal symptoms, renal failure, and seizures may occur, so the administration should be discontinued immediately and appropriate treatment should be received. This medication should be stored in the refrigerator after preparation and used within 7 days, and it is important to shake well before use. When using this medication, be sure to adhere to the above precautions and consult medical personnel immediately if abnormal symptoms arise.
