Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with a known allergy to cephalosporin antibiotics. Patients with a history of allergy to penicillin or other beta-lactam antibiotics, patients with a family history of allergic diathesis, patients with severely impaired kidney function, patients who have difficulty taking orally such as elderly patients, and patients in poor overall condition should use this drug with caution. When taking this medication, mild adverse reactions may commonly occur, including skin rash, urticaria, itching, headache, dizziness, diarrhea, nausea, etc. Severe side effects may occasionally include severe skin reactions, blood disorders, liver dysfunction, and renal impairment; symptoms that are severe or persistent should be reported to healthcare personnel immediately. During antibiotic use, there may be a risk of Candida infections or gastrointestinal bacterial imbalance, so caution is required, and if diarrhea or abdominal pain is severe, discontinue treatment and consult healthcare personnel as it may indicate pseudomembranous colitis. This medication may cause dizziness, so caution is needed when driving or operating machinery. When taken with other medications, caution should be taken since it can affect kidney function, especially when used in conjunction with diuretics, aminoglycoside antibiotics, probenecid, and antacids. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should consult a physician before use as the safety of this drug has not been fully established. Safety has not been established in infants under three months of age and because the taste can be very bitter for children, syrup formulations are recommended. Elderly patients have decreased physiological functions, which can increase the likelihood of side effects, so dosage adjustment and monitoring of condition is necessary. This medication may influence some clinical test results, so patients should inform healthcare personnel about any medications they are taking during tests. Overdosage can lead to severe side effects such as seizures, and drug concentration can be lowered via hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis. Store this medication out of reach of children and keep it sealed in its original container.
