Relief of symptoms such as allergic rhinitis and conjunctivitis, chronic urticaria.
This medicine is used for seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis, chronic idiopathic urticaria, and pruritus.
Adults and children over 6 years of age should take 10 mg of cetirizine hydrochloride orally once daily before bedtime. For patients sensitive to adverse reactions, it can be taken as 5 mg in the morning and evening (only applicable to tablets and oral solutions). As appropriate, adjust the dosage according to age and symptoms, and for patients with renal impairment, dosage intervals and amounts should be adjusted based on renal function.
Children over 6 years should take 10 mg of cetirizine hydrochloride orally once daily before bedtime, the same as adults. In pediatric patients with renal impairment, dosage should be adjusted on an individual basis according to the patient's renal clearance and body weight.
This medication should not be taken by individuals who are hypersensitive to certain ingredients or have previously experienced allergic reactions to similar drugs. Patients with severely impaired kidney function or children under 6 years old should not use this medication. It is advisable not to take certain medications that may interact with this drug, such as theophylline or ritonavir, while on this medication. Caution should be exercised when consuming alcohol excessively while taking this medication, as it may increase the risk of side effects. Patients with kidney or liver function issues, elderly patients, epilepsy sufferers, and those at risk of seizures should consult a doctor or pharmacist before using this medication. This medication may worsen issues with urination, so individuals with urinary problems such as prostate enlargement or spinal cord injury should use caution. Pregnant women are advised to consult a specialist before taking this medication, and nursing women should also be cautious as it may affect the baby. If unusual symptoms or severe side effects occur while taking this medication, stop taking it immediately and consult a physician. In cases of overdose, various symptoms such as confusion, drowsiness, dizziness, and rapid heartbeat may occur, necessitating prompt treatment. This medication can affect liver or kidney function, so regular monitoring of one's condition is necessary during treatment. Activities requiring alertness, such as driving or operating machinery, should be approached with caution, as drowsiness or decreased concentration may occur following the use of this medication. It is recommended to refrain from taking this medication for a certain period prior to allergy testing, as this may influence test results. Medicines should be kept out of the reach of children and stored in their original container to maintain the safety and efficacy of the medication.
Hives, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe rash with high fever, blisters, peeling skin, pain in oral/ocular mucous membranes, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attack, respiratory abnormalities accompanied by cough and fever, yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice), extreme lethargy, sudden and severe headaches, thunderclap headache, seizures, altered consciousness, visual disturbances, paralysis, urination.
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
Do not take this medication in conjunction with theophylline, ritonavir.
Do not take this medication with excessive alcohol.
This medication may be sensitive to air and moisture, so it should be stored in a tightly sealed container. A storage temperature between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius is recommended to maintain the effectiveness of the medication.
