This medicine is used to treat peripheral and central neuropathic pain in adults. It is also administered as an adjunct for partial seizures in patients with epilepsy, whether or not accompanied by secondary general symptoms. Additionally, it helps alleviate symptoms in patients with fibromyalgia. In other words, it is used for neuropathic pain, as an adjunct for partial seizures in epilepsy, and for the treatment of fibromyalgia.

How to take

This drug, which is Pregabalin, is taken orally, divided into two doses daily without regard to food. 1. Precautions

This drug is used for the treatment of epilepsy and may increase the risk of suicidal thoughts or behaviors, so mood changes or behavioral abnormalities should be monitored carefully during use. Patients with hypersensitivity to this drug or genetic lactose-related disorders should not take it. Diabetic patients may need to adjust the dosage of blood sugar-controlling medications due to weight gain, and immediate cessation is required if signs of angioedema occur. Elderly patients may experience an increase in dizziness or drowsiness, leading to a risk of falls, and may experience visual changes such as blurred vision. Abrupt discontinuation of this drug can cause withdrawal symptoms such as insomnia, headache, nausea, and anxiety, so it should be tapered gradually under medical supervision. Due to the potential for drug abuse or dependence, patients with a history of mental illness or drug abuse should be managed carefully. Patients with decreased kidney function may require dosage adjustments, and those with heart disease should use it cautiously. Taking this drug with opioid analgesics may increase central nervous system depressant effects, leading to a risk of respiratory depression. Pregnant women should avoid taking this drug in early pregnancy due to the risk of fetal malformation, and women of childbearing age should use effective contraceptive methods. During breastfeeding, this drug can pass into breast milk and affect the infant, so consideration should be given to stopping breastfeeding or discontinuing the drug. Before driving or operating dangerous machinery, it is important to check for dizziness or drowsiness caused by this drug, and if severe rashes or allergic symptoms appear, immediate cessation of the drug and consultation with a physician should occur. This drug is mainly excreted through the kidneys, so elderly patients or those with decreased kidney function may require dosage adjustments. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as confusion, drowsiness, depression, and seizures may occur, and immediate medical treatment should be sought. Keep out of reach of children and do not transfer to other containers for safety.
