Summary

Main use
Prevention of thrombotic cardiovascular events (such as myocardial infarction) and stroke
Who takes it
Adults · Children
Adult dose
Do not administer this medicine concomitantly with other ADP receptor inhibitors (ticlopidine, clopidogrel, prasugrel). Acute coronary syndrome: Administer an initial dose of 180mg, followed by 90mg twice daily. Treatment for 12 months is recommended unless discontinuation of this medicine is clinically necessary. Patients taking this medicine should also receive a maintenance dose of aspirin (75 - 150mg), unless specifically contraindicated. Patients with a history of myocardial infarction (occurring at least 1 year previously) who are at high risk of thrombotic cardiovascular events: Administer 60mg twice daily. Patients taking this medicine should also receive a maintenance dose of aspirin (75 - 150mg), unless specifically contraindicated. Patients who took this medicine 90mg or another ADP receptor inhibitor (ticlopidine, clopidogrel, prasugrel) during the first year after myocardial infarction may continue treatment with this medicine 60mg. Treatment with this medicine may also be initiated in patients within 2 years after myocardial infarction or within 1 year after discontinuation of a previous ADP receptor inhibitor (ticlopidine, clopidogrel, prasugrel). The safety and efficacy of this medicine were evaluated at 3 years of follow-up. Patients with type 2 diabetes who have undergone percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for coronary artery disease: Administer 60mg twice daily. Patients taking this medicine should also receive a maintenance dose of aspirin (75 - 150mg), unless specifically contraindicated. For patients with acute coronary syndrome, refer to the corresponding dosage and administration. Data on the safety and efficacy of this medicine for treatment longer than 3 years are limited. Patients with acute ischemic stroke or high-risk transient ischemic attack: Administer an initial dose of 180mg, followed by 90mg twice daily for 30 days. Patients taking this medicine should also receive a maintenance dose of aspirin (75 - 100mg), unless specifically contraindicated. In patients with acute ischemic stroke or high-risk transient ischemic attack, an initial aspirin loading dose (300-325mg) is recommended. This medicine is administered orally and may be taken regardless of meals. Patients who have difficulty swallowing tablets may crush this medicine into a fine powder, disperse it in half a glass of water, and drink it immediately; then rinse the glass with another half glass of water and drink it. This mixture may also be administered through a nasogastric tube (CH8 or larger); it is important to flush the nasogastric tube with water after administration. When switching from another antiplatelet agent to this medicine, start this medicine 24 hours after the last dose of the previous medicine. If a dose is missed, take only 1 tablet (the next scheduled dose) at the next scheduled dosing time. Dosage adjustment is not necessary in patients with renal impairment. Dosage adjustment is not necessary in patients with mild hepatic impairment. This medicine has not been studied in patients with severe hepatic impairment, and experience with its use in patients with moderate hepatic impairment is limited.
Child dose
The safety and efficacy have not been established in pediatric patients under 18 years of age (see the “Other” section).

This medication helps to reduce the incidence of thrombotic cardiovascular events, such as death due to cardiovascular incidents, myocardial infarction, and stroke, when used with aspirin in adult patients. It is effective for patients with acute coronary syndrome or those at high risk of cardiovascular events with a history of myocardial infarction for at least one year. It is also used to lower the risk of myocardial infarction or stroke in patients with type 2 diabetes who have undergone percutaneous coronary intervention for coronary artery disease. This drug, in conjunction with aspirin, aids in reducing the incidence of stroke in patients with acute ischemic stroke or high-risk transient ischemic attack. It is used to prevent the recurrence of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases and improve health.

Precautions

This drug prevents platelets from aggregating and forming clots, thereby helping to maintain blood flow and reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases such as myocardial infarction or stroke. However, this drug can increase the risk of bleeding, so it should not be used in patients who have active bleeding or a history of intracranial bleeding. If a surgery is planned, the medication should be stopped at least 5 days before the procedure, and if any bleeding symptoms occur, a doctor should be consulted immediately. Caution should be exercised in patients with a high risk of bleeding or those taking other medications that may cause bleeding, as platelet transfusions or certain hemostatic agents may be ineffective. Patients with symptoms of bradycardia (slow heart rate) or respiratory distress require special attention while taking this medication, and treatment should be stopped if respiratory distress worsens. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should avoid this medication, and women of childbearing age should use appropriate contraception to avoid pregnancy during treatment. This drug is not recommended for children under 18 years, as its safety and efficacy have not been established. In case of overdose, the risk of bleeding increases significantly, so it is necessary to visit a medical facility for proper treatment immediately. This drug may have increased side effects when used in patients with specific liver diseases or severely impaired kidney function, and consultation with a physician is necessary. Dizziness or confusion may occur during treatment, necessitating caution when driving or operating machinery. When taken with aspirin, the aspirin dosage should be maintained at a low dose (75-150 mg). This drug may interact with several other medications, so it is essential to inform healthcare providers of any other medications being taken.
