This medication is used for the treatment of peripheral and central neuropathic pain in adults. It is also effective as an adjunctive treatment for epilepsy with or without secondary generalized symptoms. It is used to help relieve the symptoms of fibromyalgia. It is utilized for symptom improvement in various neurological disorders.

How to take

Adult dose

This medication should be taken orally, divided into two doses daily, regardless of food intake. 1. Neuropathic Pain - Peripheral neuropathic pain: Starting dose of 150 mg once daily can be given, and can be increased to 300 mg once daily within 3 to 7 days, then further increased to a maximum of 600 mg daily at intervals of 7 days. - Central neuropathic pain: Starting dose of 150 mg once daily, can be increased to 300 mg once daily after one week.

Child dose

The safety and efficacy of this medication in children under 12 years of age and adolescents aged 12 to 17 years are insufficient, and its use is not recommended.

Precautions

This medication may increase the risk of suicidal thoughts or behavior, so report any mood changes or symptoms of depression to your healthcare provider immediately while taking it. Do not use if allergic to any of the ingredients in this medication, and patients with lactose intolerance should also avoid it. Diabetic patients should be cautious as weight gain after taking this medication may require adjustment of their blood sugar control medication. If symptoms of angioedema occur, stop taking the medication immediately and consult your healthcare provider. In case of overdose, symptoms such as confusion, drowsiness, depression, or seizures may occur, requiring caution, and treatment such as dialysis may be necessary. Keep out of the reach of children, and avoid transferring to other containers. This medication is not recommended for breastfeeding women; a decision should be made considering breastfeeding status and the benefits of treatment. Elderly patients may require dose adjustments due to delayed drug elimination caused by decreased renal function.
