In severe or respiratory infections, the dose may be increased to 500 mg/125 mg. Precautions

This medicine is a beta-lactam antibiotic and should not be used in patients who are allergic to certain components or have a history of hypersensitivity to penicillins or cephalosporins. Care should be taken in patients with infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia because of an increased risk of rash. Patients with previous liver function issues should avoid this medication, as there is a risk of recurrence of liver dysfunction. Patients with impaired liver or kidney function should use this medicine with caution, and the dosing interval or dosage may need adjustment. Caution is also required for patients with allergic diathesis or those with gastrointestinal symptoms that may impair drug absorption. This medicine can cause various side effects in the gastrointestinal tract, including diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal pain, and in severe cases, it may progress to severe colitis such as pseudomembranous colitis. Symptoms of liver dysfunction may occur, particularly more frequently reported in older individuals and males. Rarely, hypersensitivity reactions may occur, such as skin rashes, itching, or severe skin reactions, and if these symptoms appear, administration should be stopped immediately. Blood-related side effects like leukopenia, anemia, and thrombocytopenia have been reported rarely. Central nervous system symptoms may include restlessness, anxiety, dizziness, and rarely seizures, so caution is necessary. Impaired kidney function may occur, necessitating regular monitoring, and administration should be discontinued if abnormalities are found. Long-term use may lead to the proliferation of resistant bacteria, so monitoring is required for administration beyond 14 days. This medicine may interact with other drugs, particularly when taken with anticoagulants, anti-inflammatory medications, or oral contraceptives. Early use during pregnancy should be avoided, and during breastfeeding, if adverse effects arise in the infant, administration should be suspended. It is not recommended for children under 12 years old or those weighing less than 40 kg. Older adults are at higher risk for side effects due to decreased bodily functions; therefore, dosing and administration should be adjusted carefully. In case of overdose, symptoms may include vomiting, diarrhea, renal failure, and seizures, necessitating immediate appropriate medical treatment. This medicine should be stored in a dry place at temperatures below 25 degrees Celsius, and it is important to thoroughly check past allergy history and current health status before use.
