In cases of severe and respiratory infections, the dose can be increased to 500 mg/125 mg per dose. In case of renal impairment, adjustments should be made according to creatinine clearance.

Precautions

This drug is a beta-lactam antibiotic and should not be administered to patients with a history of allergic reactions to penicillin or cephalosporin drugs. Particular caution is needed in patients with infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia due to an increased risk of rash. Patients with a history of liver dysfunction or jaundice may experience a recurrence of symptoms, so caution is necessary. Patients with liver dysfunction should use the medication carefully as it may further worsen liver function. Patients with moderate to severe renal impairment may require dosage adjustment due to increased drug concentration. Caution is also needed for those with a history of allergies, bronchial asthma, rash, or urticaria. Patients who have difficulty swallowing, elderly patients, and those in poor general condition may be at risk for side effects such as vitamin K deficiency and should be administered carefully. Gastrointestinal adverse reactions such as diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal pain may occur, and these gastrointestinal side effects may be reduced by taking the drug with food. Liver function abnormalities may occur, especially more commonly in elderly patients over 60 years or in males. Hypersensitivity reactions such as skin rash, itching, and rarely severe skin disorders may occur, and if any unusual symptoms appear, the medication should be stopped immediately. Hematological abnormalities such as leukopenia and thrombocytopenia have been rarely reported, and regular blood tests may be necessary. Central nervous system side effects such as anxiety, drowsiness, and rarely seizures may occur, so attention should be paid to any unusual symptoms. Renal function abnormalities may arise, necessitating regular check-ups, and if any abnormalities are found, administration should be stopped. If severe diarrhea or abdominal pain occurs during or after antibiotic use, there is a possibility of colitis, and immediate consultation with a physician is advised. Caution is advised when using this drug for more than 14 days due to the risk of resistant bacteria and superinfection. It is recommended to avoid administration during the first three months of pregnancy, and observation is necessary for breastfeeding mothers as the infant may experience side effects such as diarrhea or skin rash. It is not recommended for children under 12 years or those weighing less than 40 kg. Elderly patients should use with caution, adjusting doses and intervals due to decreased physiological function and increased risk of adverse reactions. Since this medication is excreted via the kidneys, dosage adjustment is necessary for patients with reduced renal function. It may interact with other medications, particularly anticoagulants or certain antibiotics, so caution is necessary. In case of overdose, gastrointestinal symptoms, rashes, and seizures may occur, and administration should be stopped immediately, followed by appropriate treatment. The medication should be stored in a closed container to prevent moisture, in a cool, dry place below 25 degrees, to maintain its efficacy.
