It is recommended to administer this medication only for the necessary minimum duration to prevent the emergence of resistant bacteria, and patients with hypersensitivity to penicillin drugs should be particularly cautious. Close observation of the patient should be conducted after administration due to the risk of acute allergic reactions. Severe gastrointestinal diseases such as pseudomembranous colitis may occur, so if there is severe diarrhea or abdominal cramping, treatment should be discontinued immediately and the patient should be taken to the hospital. During prolonged administration, regular checks of liver function, kidney function, and blood status should be conducted, and a thorough history of allergies should be confirmed before administering the medication. It is preferable not to use this medication in children, especially newborns or premature infants under 2 months of age, as safety has not been established. Elderly patients may experience adverse reactions more easily due to decreased bodily functions, so the dosage and intervals should be adjusted, and careful monitoring is necessary.
