Treatment of respiratory (bronchitis, pneumonia) and urogenital (cystitis, gonorrhea) infections.
This medication is used to treat various infections caused by a range of bacteria. It is effective for respiratory infections such as acute and chronic bronchitis, lobar and bronchopneumonia, empyema, and lung abscess, and is also effective for tonsillitis, sinusitis, and otitis media. Additionally, it is used to treat urinary infections such as cystitis, urethritis, and pyelonephritis. It is utilized in treating infections in various areas including pelvic infections, gonorrhea, boils and abscesses, soft tissue infections, wound infections, and osteomyelitis, as well as dental infections. This medication is effective against a wide range of bacteria, including many resistant strains such as Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, and Neisseria gonorrhoeae, thus helping to improve various infectious diseases.
In cases of upper respiratory infections such as recurrent tonsillitis, lower respiratory infections, urinary infections, and mild to moderate skin and soft tissue infections, amoxicillin/clavulanate potassium is usually given as 25 mg/3.6 mg per kg of body weight, divided into two doses per day. In cases of severe infections such as otitis media, sinusitis, lower respiratory infections like bronchopneumonia, and urinary infections, amoxicillin/clavulanate potassium is usually administered as 45 mg/6.4 mg per kg of body weight.
The 7:1 syrup is not suitable for children under 2 months of age and pediatric patients with renal failure.
This medication contains the artificial sweetener aspartame, which is broken down into phenylalanine in the body, so it should not be used by patients with the genetic disorder phenylketonuria. Patients who have had an allergic reaction to this medication or to beta-lactam antibiotics, patients with infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia, and those with liver dysfunction or a history of jaundice should also not be administered this medication. Patients with poor liver or kidney function, individuals with allergic conditions, patients receiving non-oral nutrition, the elderly, and those with gastrointestinal diseases causing vomiting or diarrhea should use this medication cautiously. This medication may cause various side effects, including gastrointestinal disturbances, liver function abnormalities, allergic reactions, blood abnormalities, neurological issues, and kidney damage, so symptoms must be discussed with a doctor immediately. Particularly, if severe diarrhea or abdominal pain, skin rashes, or shortness of breath occur, the medication should be stopped and medical attention should be sought immediately. Regular monitoring of liver and kidney function, as well as blood tests, is important when using this medication for an extended period or at high doses. Before administering the medication, it is essential to inform healthcare providers about any past allergic reactions to antibiotics such as penicillin or cephalosporin. This medication may interact with other drugs; therefore, patients should inform their doctors or pharmacists if they are taking other medications, especially anticoagulants or specific antibiotics. Pregnant or nursing women should take this medication only under the doctor's recommendation, and it should be avoided during the first three months of pregnancy if possible. Children, especially newborns under 2 months or premature infants, should be treated carefully as safety has not been established for them. This medication should be stored in a sealed container to protect it from air and moisture and should be kept in a cool, dry place at or below 25 degrees Celsius. After preparation, it should be refrigerated and used within 7 days. In case of overdose, symptoms such as gastrointestinal disturbances, allergic reactions, or kidney dysfunction may occur, so it is important to inform medical staff immediately for appropriate treatment.
Hives, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweats, paleness, severe allergic reactions, high fever with severe rashes, blisters, skin peeling, mucosal pain in the mouth/eyes, severe skin adverse reactions, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attacks, respiratory distress accompanied by cough and fever, yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice), extreme lethargy, liver abnormalities (jaundice), sudden and severe.

This medication should be stored in a tightly closed container to protect it from air and moisture. Additionally, it should be stored in a cool, dry place at or below 25 degrees Celsius to maintain its effectiveness.
