How it is given

Adult administration

Adults weighing 50kg or more: administer acetaminophen at 1000mg per dose, up to 4 times a day, with a minimum dosing interval of 4 hours. The maximum daily dosage must not exceed 4 grams. Patients with severe kidney impairment (creatinine clearance ≤30ml/min): a minimum dosing interval of 6 hours is advisable. Administration method: administered intravenously over 15 minutes.

Child administration

Children weighing 33kg (approximately 11 years old) and above, and adults weighing less than 50kg: 15mg/kg per dose of acetaminophen (about 1.5ml/kg), with a minimum dosing interval of 4 hours.

This medication can rarely cause a variety of side effects, including blood abnormalities, liver dysfunction, kidney problems, and severe skin reactions, so if any abnormal symptoms occur, immediate consultation with healthcare staff is required. It can interact with other drugs, so if there are any current medications being taken, this must be disclosed, particularly when used alongside specific antibiotics, anti-tuberculosis drugs, and anticonvulsants. In case of overdose, symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, and abdominal pain may appear, and in severe cases, it can lead to liver failure or coma, requiring immediate emergency treatment.
