This medication is used for the treatment of peripheral and central neuropathic pain in adults. It also helps in the adjunctive treatment of partial seizures in patients with epilepsy. It is effective in improving symptoms in patients with fibromyalgia. It is utilized for a variety of neurological disorders, enhancing patients' quality of life.

How to take

Adult dose

This medication should be taken orally, divided into two doses per day, regardless of food. 1. Neuropathic Pain - Peripheral Neuropathic Pain: Starting dose of 150 mg per day, increased to 300 mg per day after 3 to 7 days, and if necessary, can be increased to a maximum of 600 mg per day at 7-day intervals. - Central Neuropathic Pain: Starting dose of 150 mg per day, increased to 300 mg per day after one week.

Child dose

There are insufficient safety and efficacy data for pediatric patients under 12 years of age and adolescents aged 12 to 17 years; therefore, administration is not recommended.

Precautions

This medication may increase the risk of suicidal thoughts or behaviors, so if there are any changes in mood or behavior during treatment, consulting a physician immediately is advised. Patients with allergic reactions to this medication should not use it. Diabetic patients need to be cautious as weight gain may complicate blood sugar control, and if signs of angioedema appear, they should discontinue use immediately.
