This medication is used to treat various infections caused by different bacteria. It is effective against respiratory infections excluding acute bronchitis, community-acquired pneumonia, infections of the ear, nose, and throat, as well as bacterial prostatitis and urinary tract infections. It is also used for gonococcal cervicitis and urethritis, gastrointestinal and biliary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and bone and joint infections. It is helpful in treating gynecological infections, peritonitis, and infections around the eyes. However, as a fluoroquinolone, it may pose risks for serious adverse reactions, and its use is recommended only when no other treatment options are available in specific situations. This drug is used to improve various bacterial infections.

How to take

Adult dose

Precautions

This medication can cause severe side effects such as tendonitis, tendon rupture, peripheral neuropathy, and central nervous system disorders. If any of these symptoms occur, discontinue use immediately. Patients with myasthenia gravis should avoid taking this medication, as it may worsen their symptoms. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, nursing mothers, children under 18 years old, and patients with epilepsy should not use this medication. Patients with severely impaired kidney function, those with a history of seizures, elderly patients, and those with central nervous system disorders should use this medication with caution. Due to the risk of serious adverse reactions, any pain, sensory abnormalities, mental changes, or visual disturbances should be reported to a doctor immediately. Fungal superinfection, blood and lymphatic system abnormalities (eosinophilia, phlebitis, leukopenia, anemia, neutropenia, leukocytosis, thrombocytopenia, thrombocytosis, erythropenia, hemoglobin decrease, decreased hematocrit, agranulocytosis, leukolysis, increased INR), syndrome of inappropriate secretion of antidiuretic hormone, allergic reactions, allergic swelling/angioedema, decreased appetite and food intake, blood alkalosis.
