This medication is used to improve atherosclerotic symptoms in adult patients with ischemic stroke, myocardial infarction, and peripheral artery disease. It also helps prevent and improve atherosclerotic symptoms such as cardiovascular death, myocardial infarction, and stroke in patients with acute coronary syndrome who have unstable angina or non-Q-wave myocardial infarction, or who have undergone coronary interventional procedures or bypass surgery. This drug is effective in reducing the risk of stroke and atherothrombosis and thromboembolism in patients with atrial fibrillation who are not suitable for vitamin K antagonist therapy and have a low risk of bleeding. In summary, this drug is used to improve and prevent various risk symptoms associated with vascular disease.

How to take

Adult dose

○ Adults 1. For patients with ischemic stroke, myocardial infarction, or peripheral arterial disease, administer clopidogrel 75 mg orally once daily. 2. Precautions

This drug is an antiplatelet agent that prevents platelet aggregation in the blood to prevent thrombus formation. This drug may be less effective in patients with genetic factors that impair the enzyme function that converts the drug to its active form in the liver. Therefore, such patients should consult their doctor to consider alternative treatment options. Additionally, taking certain medications with this drug may alter drug concentrations and increase the risk of bleeding, so it is essential to inform your doctor and pharmacist of all medications being taken. Patients with a high risk of bleeding, patients with severe liver or kidney dysfunction, patients with bleeding disorders, nursing women, and certain genetic lactose intolerance individuals should not take this drug. During treatment with this drug, the time taken for bleeding to stop may be prolonged, and wounds or bleeding sites may heal poorly, so if bleeding symptoms occur, inform your doctor immediately. If surgery is planned, this drug should be discontinued 5 to 7 days before the surgery, and it should be restarted after the bleeding has stopped following the surgery. This medication can increase the risk of bleeding when taken with other antiplatelet agents, anticoagulants, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), and selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), so caution is needed. For pregnant women, this drug is known not to pose significant risks to the fetus, but the risk of bleeding during childbirth may be increased, so it should be discussed with a doctor. Nursing mothers should consult their doctor about whether to continue breastfeeding or discontinue drug treatment, as this drug can be secreted in breast milk. The safety and efficacy of this drug in children have not been established, and it is advisable not to use it in pediatric patients. Elderly patients may have an increased risk of bleeding due to decreased kidney and liver function, so dose adjustments and monitoring of their condition are necessary. In case of overdose, the risk of bleeding may increase, and emergency treatment such as platelet transfusion may be required. This drug should be stored out of reach of children and should not be transferred to other containers for safety. During treatment with this drug, any bleeding symptoms or adverse reactions should be discussed with healthcare providers immediately, and all medications being taken should also be disclosed.
