Precautions

This drug is a β-lactam antibiotic belonging to the penicillin class and should not be administered to patients who have had allergic reactions. In particular, individuals with a history of hypersensitivity to this drug or other β-lactam drugs should avoid its use. Patients with viral infections such as infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia are at higher risk of rash when using this drug. Individuals with a history of liver dysfunction or jaundice should also refrain from using this drug due to the risk of recurrence. Patients with decreased liver function should use this drug cautiously as it may worsen liver function. Patients with moderate to severe renal impairment may require dosage adjustments due to potentially elevated drug concentrations. Those with a history of allergies or family history should be cautious of hypersensitivity reactions. Patients who have difficulty in oral intake, elderly patients, and individuals in poor systemic condition should be cautious due to the risk of bleeding from vitamin K deficiency. If there is severe vomiting or diarrhea due to gastrointestinal disease, absorption of the drug may be impaired, and careful administration is necessary. This drug can cause gastrointestinal side effects such as diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal pain, and administration should be discontinued immediately if severe diarrhea and abdominal pain occur. Symptoms of liver dysfunction may rarely occur, especially more frequently reported in the elderly and males, with an increased risk associated with prolonged treatment. Skin rashes, itching, and in severe cases, serious skin reactions such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome may occur, requiring immediate consultation with a doctor upon symptom onset. Rare blood-related adverse reactions such as leukopenia, anemia, and thrombocytopenia may occur, thus vigilance for any abnormal symptoms is necessary. Central nervous system abnormalities may present as anxiety, confusion, and seizures, with an increased risk of seizures in patients with renal impairment or at high doses. Patients with renal dysfunction may experience acute renal failure or nephritis, necessitating regular examinations. Antibiotic use may alter the normal gut flora, causing opportunistic infections such as candidiasis. Symptoms of vitamin K deficiency may appear, requiring caution in patients prone to bleeding. It is advisable to perform susceptibility tests to prevent the emergence of resistant bacteria and administer only for the minimum necessary duration. Patients with a history of hypersensitivity to penicillin drugs should be aware of the risk of serious allergic reactions. Anaphylactic shock may occur, so patients should be monitored after administration, and preparations for emergency care should be ready. Antibiotic-associated pseudomembranous colitis may develop, requiring immediate discontinuation and consultation with a physician if severe diarrhea and abdominal pain occur. Prolonged administration may lead to the proliferation of nonsusceptible bacteria, so careful observation is advised for use beyond 14 days. If liver dysfunction is suspected, use should be discontinued and appropriate medical treatment should be sought. Patients with renal impairment should adjust their dosage and administration intervals accordingly. If infectious mononucleosis is suspected, it is recommended to avoid this drug. If symptoms such as urticaria, skin rash, or serum sickness appear, administration should be stopped immediately and follow the physician's instructions. Regular examinations of renal, liver, and hematological functions should be conducted during long-term administration. A history of allergy to penicillin or cephalosporin drugs must be verified. In the event of an overdose, symptoms such as gastrointestinal disturbances, drowsiness, rash, and seizures may occur, requiring immediate cessation of use and appropriate emergency treatment. This drug should be stored in a dry place below 25 degrees Celsius, and women in early pregnancy or nursing should consult a physician before use. In children under 12 years of age or weighing less than 40 kg, there is limited experience with use and it is not recommended. Elderly patients may exhibit abnormal reactions due to decreased physiological functions, so careful administration is necessary. This drug may affect certain clinical test results, so it is advisable to inform the medical staff during tests. There may be interactions with other medications taken concurrently, so it is essential to inform healthcare providers of any current medications.
