For patients with kidney impairment, the dosage and dosing interval should be adjusted based on creatinine clearance; the normal dose is 10 mg once daily, mild cases 10 mg once daily, moderate cases 5 mg once daily.

This medication is used for seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis, chronic idiopathic urticaria, and skin itching.

How to take

Adult dose

Adults and children over 6 years of age should be given cetirizine hydrochloride at a dosage of 10 mg orally once daily before bedtime. Patients sensitive to side effects may be given 5 mg twice daily. Dosage may be adjusted according to age and symptoms. For patients with kidney impairment, the dosage and dosing interval should be adjusted based on creatinine clearance; the normal dose is 10 mg once daily, mild cases 10 mg once daily, moderate cases 5 mg once daily.
