Adults and children over 12 years: 1-2g (activity) of ceftriaxone is administered intravenously or intramuscularly once daily. In cases of severe disease caused by moderately susceptible pathogens, the dosage may be increased to 4g (activity) once daily. Elderly: There is no need to change the dosage for adults.
For newborns (within 14 days of birth), 20-50mg (activity) per kg of body weight is administered once daily and should not exceed 50mg (activity) per kg. It is not necessary to distinguish between premature and term infants.

In particular, it should not be administered to newborns, as there is a risk of precipitation from calcium interaction. Patients with an allergy to this drug or who have had hypersensitivity reactions to cephalosporins or penicillin antibiotics should not use this medication. It should also not be given to premature infants or to newborns with jaundice or issues with bilirubin binding.
