Neuropathic Pain - Peripheral neuropathic pain: Initiate with a dose of 150 mg once daily, which may be increased to 300 mg once daily after 3 to 7 days; thereafter, it may be increased up to a maximum of 600 mg daily at intervals of 7 days. - Central neuropathic pain: Initiate with a dose of 150 mg once daily; after one week, increase to 300 mg once daily.
Child dose
For children under 12 years of age and adolescents aged 12 to 17, there is insufficient safety and efficacy data, so administration is not recommended.

This medication is used for the treatment of peripheral and central neuropathic pain in adults. It is also effective as an adjunct in treating partial seizures in epilepsy patients. Furthermore, it helps alleviate pain caused by fibromyalgia. It contributes to improving symptoms of these conditions to enhance the quality of life of patients.

How to take

Adult dose

This medication is taken orally divided into two doses daily regardless of meals. 1. Neuropathic Pain - Peripheral neuropathic pain: Initiate with a dose of 150 mg once daily, which may be increased to 300 mg once daily after 3 to 7 days; thereafter, it may be increased up to a maximum of 600 mg daily at intervals of 7 days. - Central neuropathic pain: Initiate with a dose of 150 mg once daily; after one week, increase to 300 mg once daily.

Child dose

For children under 12 years of age and adolescents aged 12 to 17, there is insufficient safety and efficacy data, so administration is not recommended.

Precautions

This medication may increase the risk of suicidal thoughts or actions; therefore, if you experience any abnormal changes in mood or behavior during treatment, consult your doctor immediately. Patients with hypersensitivity to this medication should not take it, and caution is needed for diabetic patients as weight gain may affect blood sugar control. If allergic reactions such as angioedema occur, discontinue use immediately, and elderly patients should be cautious as they may be at risk of falls due to dizziness or drowsiness. Vision blurring or changes may occur, so consult your doctor if these symptoms develop. Sudden discontinuation of the medication may result in withdrawal symptoms such as insomnia, headaches, or anxiety; thus, it should be gradually reduced according to your doctor's instructions.
