Precautions

This medication is a penicillin-class antibiotic and should not be administered to certain patients. For example, patients who have had allergic reactions to the ingredients of this drug or to beta-lactam antibiotics, patients with infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia, and those with a history of liver dysfunction or jaundice related to this drug or penicillin should not use it. Patients with poor liver function or moderate to severe kidney impairment should use this drug cautiously, adjusting dosing intervals and carefully monitoring their condition. Patients with allergies or symptoms such as vomiting and diarrhea, those who have difficulty swallowing orally, and the elderly should also be cautious. Adverse reactions such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, vomiting, skin rash, and respiratory distress may occur during treatment, so immediate consultation with a physician is advised if such symptoms arise. Particularly, serious gastrointestinal adverse reactions such as pseudomembranous colitis may occur, thus if abdominal pain or frequent diarrhea occurs, the drug should be discontinued and medical attention sought. Signs of liver dysfunction may appear, so regular liver function tests are recommended during prolonged use. Allergic reactions may lead to skin rash, itching, and in severe cases, anaphylactic shock; therefore, careful observation of the patient's condition after administration is necessary. This medication may interact with other drugs, so it is important to inform the physician or pharmacist if taking anticoagulants, certain antibiotics, and anti-inflammatory medications. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should use this medication cautiously, particularly during early pregnancy. Infants, especially those under 2 months old, have not had safety established, thus caution is needed for their use. The elderly are at higher risk for adverse reactions due to decreased kidney and liver function, so dosage and administration intervals should be adjusted and their condition closely monitored. This medication should be shaken well before use, stored refrigerated after preparation, and consumed within 7 days. In case of overdose, gastrointestinal disturbances, rashes, drowsiness, or convulsions may occur, and immediate discontinuation and medical assistance are required. The administration of this drug may affect blood or urine test results, so it is important to inform the testing personnel of its usage.
