Precautions

This medication is an antibiotic that works by binding to specific proteins to disrupt bacterial cell wall synthesis, thereby killing bacteria. This medication should not be used in patients who have previously experienced severe allergic reactions or shock from this medication or similar classes of antibiotics. Additionally, it contains lactose, so patients with a genetic lactose intolerance should not take this medication. Patients with a history of allergy to penicillin antibiotics or those with an allergic constitution, severely compromised renal function, poor nutritional status, or elderly patients should use this medication with particular caution. During treatment with this medication, rare occurrences of shock, severe allergic reactions, skin rashes, blood abnormalities, liver or kidney dysfunction, and gastrointestinal disturbances may arise; therefore, symptoms should be carefully monitored. Particularly, if symptoms such as severe abdominal pain, hematochezia (blood in stool), difficulty breathing, or rash occur, consult with a physician immediately. This medication may interact with other drugs, thus particular caution is needed when taking it with medications that affect blood clotting or impose a burden on the kidneys. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should cautiously consider the need and risks as the safety of this medication has not been fully established. It is advisable to avoid using this medication in newborns or infants less than 1 month old as its safety and efficacy are not established. Elderly patients have reduced physiological function and may experience side effects more easily, thus they should use this medication carefully with attention to doses and dosing intervals. During treatment with this medication, some urine test results may be inaccurately reported, so it is advisable to inform medical personnel about this during testing. Finally, this medication should only be used when effective against infection-causing bacteria, and to prevent the development of resistant bacteria, it is essential to take it for the designated period under the physician's guidance.
