This medication is used to treat peripheral and central neuropathic pain in adults and serves as an adjunct for partial seizures in epilepsy. It is also effective for the treatment of fibromyalgia. It is mainly used to improve neurologically related pain and seizure symptoms.

How to take

Adult dose

This medication should be taken orally, divided into two doses daily without regard to meals. Neuropathic Pain (Peripheral and Central): As a starting dose, administer 150 mg once daily and may increase to 300 mg once daily based on patient response and tolerance, after 3 to 7 days. Further increases up to a maximum of 600 mg once daily can be made every 7 days. Epilepsy: Starting dose of 150 mg once daily.

Precautions

This medication may increase the risk of suicidal thoughts or behavior, and patients should be closely monitored for symptoms of depression or mood changes during use.
