Precautions

This medication contains a beta-lactam antibiotic component belonging to the penicillin group. It should not be administered to patients with a history of hypersensitivity. In particular, individuals allergic to penicillin or cephalosporin antibiotics should avoid administration. In cases where viral infections such as infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia are present, using this medication may increase the risk of skin rash. Patients with a history of liver dysfunction should be cautious, as liver impairment may recur with this medication. Patients with liver dysfunction or moderate to severe renal disease should adjust the dosage and administration intervals of this medication and closely monitor their condition. Patients with allergic background or a history of atopy, asthma, etc. should also be administered cautiously. Patients who have difficulty in oral intake, the elderly, or those in poor general condition should be cautious due to the risk of bleeding from vitamin K deficiency. Patients with gastrointestinal disorders or severe vomiting and diarrhea may have insufficient drug absorption and should be administered with caution. This drug can cause various gastrointestinal side effects such as diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and loss of appetite. In severe cases, serious colitis like pseudomembranous colitis can occur; thus, if symptoms arise, medication should be discontinued immediately, and healthcare professionals should be consulted. Signs of liver dysfunction may occur, so regular liver function tests are required, particularly for elderly patients aged over 60 or male patients who need to exercise greater caution. Skin rashes, itching, and in severe cases, serious skin reactions such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome or toxic epidermal necrolysis may occur, and if such symptoms appear, medication should be discontinued immediately. Blood tests may reveal abnormalities such as leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, and anemia, so regular blood tests are necessary. CNS reactions such as anxiety, confusion, and convulsions have been reported infrequently, occurring more often in patients with impaired kidney function or those receiving high doses. Kidney function abnormalities may arise; therefore, regular kidney function tests are necessary, and if abnormal symptoms are noted, dosage should be discontinued. This medication affects the gut microbiota and can lead to fungal infections such as candidiasis; if symptoms emerge, appropriate treatment must be sought. Long-term use can result in bleeding tendency due to vitamin K deficiency or vitamin B complex deficiency symptoms; thus, caution is advised. This medication should be used for the minimum necessary duration to prevent the emergence of resistant bacteria; unnecessary extended use should be avoided. Patients with a history of hypersensitivity to penicillin-class drugs may experience severe allergic reactions such as anaphylaxis or angioedema, so past medical history must be thoroughly checked before administration. Following administration, the patient's condition must be closely monitored for emergency situations such as anaphylactic shock, and readiness for emergency treatment must be ensured. Antibiotic-associated pseudomembranous colitis may occur, so if diarrhea or abdominal pain intensifies, medication should be discontinued immediately, and healthcare professionals should be consulted. This medication can affect liver and kidney function; thus, elderly patients or those with pre-existing liver or kidney disease require dosage adjustment and periodic testing. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant should particularly avoid using this medication during the first three months of pregnancy. Nursing mothers should also be cautious as side effects may appear in infants. There is limited experience with children, especially those under 12 years of age or weighing less than 40 kg, so its use is not recommended. This medication may interact with other drugs, so if currently taking any other medications, patients must inform healthcare professionals, and caution is needed when combined with certain drugs. In case of overdose, gastrointestinal symptoms, renal failure, and convulsions may occur; thus, if overdose is suspected, patients must seek medical attention promptly for appropriate treatment. Lastly, this medication should be stored in a dry place below 25 degrees Celsius, and patients should not discontinue or change the dosage without doctor's instructions.
