Precautions

This medication contains the artificial sweetener aspartame and should not be used by patients with hereditary conditions such as phenylketonuria. Care should be taken to not exceed the daily allowable intake of aspartame, which should not exceed 2.4g per day for adults. Patients with a previous hypersensitivity to this medication or beta-lactam antibiotics should not be administered this drug, and patients with infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia should also avoid its use. It is advisable not to administer this medication to patients with a history of liver dysfunction or jaundice due to the possible risk of recurrence. This medication contains lactose and should not be used in patients with hereditary issues such as galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption. Caution is advised for patients with liver disorders or moderate to severe kidney disorders as there is a risk of worsening liver function or increased blood drug concentration, requiring dosage interval adjustments. Patients with allergies, gastrointestinal symptoms such as vomiting or diarrhea, elderly patients, and those in poor general condition should be administered cautiously. Gastrointestinal side effects such as diarrhea, gastritis, and vomiting may occur due to this medication; if severe cases such as pseudomembranous colitis or acute pancreatitis arise, use should be discontinued immediately upon symptom onset. Liver dysfunction may develop, which is reported more frequently in elderly patients and males, thus necessitating liver function tests. Severe allergic reactions such as skin rash, anaphylaxis, and angioedema can rarely occur; if any abnormal symptoms appear, drug administration should be stopped immediately, and medical advice should be sought. Blood-related issues such as leukopenia, anemia, and thrombocytopenia may occur infrequently, necessitating regular blood tests. Central nervous system side effects such as drowsiness, insomnia, and seizures should be monitored. This medication can affect kidney function, so routine kidney function tests should be conducted; if abnormalities are noted, the drug should be discontinued. Antibiotic treatment may lead to opportunistic infections such as oral candidiasis, so attention should be paid to oral hygiene. A bleeding tendency may arise from vitamin K deficiency, so vigilance for bleeding symptoms is advised. It is advisable to avoid use especially during the first trimester of pregnancy, and breastfeeding women should discontinue use upon the occurrence of abnormal reactions. Its safety has not been established in preterm infants and neonates, so it is preferable not to administer it to them. Elderly individuals should have adjusted dosage and intervals due to an increased risk of adverse reactions associated with decreased physiological function. This medication may interact with other medications, so caution is required when combined with anticoagulants, probenecid, allopurinol, etc. In case of overdose, gastrointestinal symptoms, renal failure, seizures, and other serious effects may occur, and immediate medical attention should be sought. This medication should be stored in a tightly closed container to prevent air or moisture ingress, and the storage temperature should be suitable between 1 and 25 degrees Celsius.
