Precautions

This medication should not be mixed or administered simultaneously with solutions or medications containing calcium. Especially in newborns, the combination of calcium and this medication can cause precipitation and severe side effects, so it should not be administered. Patients with allergic reactions to this medication or hypersensitivity to cephalosporins or penicillin-class antibiotics should not use it. Caution is required when administering intramuscular injections in individuals allergic to the local anesthetic lidocaine, and intravenous administration of this medication containing lidocaine should be avoided. Premature infants or newborns with problems in binding bilirubin should not be given this medication, nor should newborns receiving calcium-containing solutions. Past patients with drug allergies or symptoms of allergies such as asthma and hives should be administered this medication with caution, and patients with severely impaired kidney function may require dosage adjustment. Furthermore, patients on parenteral nutrition, elderly patients, or those in poor overall condition may develop vitamin K deficiency symptoms; regular testing is necessary. Using this medication may commonly result in side effects such as diarrhea, rash, liver function abnormalities, and decreased blood cell counts, while rare severe allergic reactions, interstitial pneumonia, and acute renal failure may occur. If symptoms occur, consult healthcare professionals immediately. It is crucial to routinely check liver and kidney function, blood tests, etc., during administration to confirm any abnormalities. This medication may induce side effects such as dizziness when driving or operating machinery; therefore, caution is advised. This medication may interact with certain specific medications, so when used with diuretics, aminoglycoside antibiotics, vitamin K antagonists, etc., it should be in accordance with healthcare professionals' instructions. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult with a physician since the administration of this medication may affect the fetus or newborn. Use in newborns and premature infants is restricted due to the risk of bilirubin encephalopathy, and caution is needed for elderly patients due to a higher risk of side effects resulting from decreased bodily functions. When administering this medication, care must be taken to avoid simultaneous use with calcium-containing solutions, and it is recommended to use the prepared injection as soon as possible. The prepared solution should be used within a specified period and maintained at an appropriate temperature during storage.
