Adult dose
For mild to moderate infections such as recurrent tonsillitis, upper respiratory infections, lower respiratory infections, urinary tract infections, and skin and soft tissue infections, the usual dosage is 25 mg/3.6 mg per kg of body weight, divided into two doses daily. For severe infections such as otitis media, sinusitis, lower respiratory infections such as bronchopneumonia, and urinary tract infections, the usual dosage is 45 mg/6.4 mg per kg of body weight, divided into two doses daily. Potential gastrointestinal intolerance is minimized by administering at the beginning of meals.
Child dose
The 7:1 syrup is not suitable for children under 2 months of age and pediatric patients with renal impairment.

This medication is used to effectively treat various infections caused by bacteria. It helps in the treatment of acute and chronic bronchitis, lobar and bronchial pneumonia, empyema, and lung abscesses, and is also effective for respiratory infections such as tonsillitis, sinusitis, and otitis media. Additionally, it is used for urogenital infections such as cystitis, urethritis, and pyelonephritis, as well as treatment for pelvic infections, gonorrhea, furuncles, abscesses, soft tissue infections, wound infections, osteomyelitis, and dental infections, making it useful for a broad range of infectious conditions. This medication is useful for improving various bacterial infections.

How to take

Adult dose

Precautions

This medication contains the artificial sweetener aspartame and should not be used by patients with phenylketonuria, a genetic disorder. The daily intake of aspartame should be controlled to not exceed the recommended amount by WHO, with a maximum of 2.4g per day for adults. Patients with allergies or a history of hypersensitivity to the beta-lactam components in this medication should not use it. Especially, patients with infectious mononucleosis or lymphoblastic leukemia are at higher risk for rashes and should avoid this medication. Patients who have experienced jaundice or liver dysfunction from this medication or penicillin in the past should also avoid it. This medication contains lactose, so it should not be used in patients with galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption due to genetic issues. Patients with poor liver function or moderate to severe kidney impairment should use this medication with caution and adjust the dosing interval as necessary. Patients with allergies or gastrointestinal symptoms such as vomiting or diarrhea should also use this medication with caution. While taking this medication, various side effects such as diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and skin rashes may occur, and if symptoms appear, immediate consultation with a physician is required. Particularly, severe adverse reactions such as pseudomembranous colitis or serious allergic reactions (anaphylaxis, etc.) can occur, and if such symptoms occur, the treatment should be stopped immediately and medical assistance should be sought. Liver function abnormalities or abnormal blood test results may rarely occur, so regular check-ups are necessary with prolonged use. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should consult with their doctor before using this medication, and it is particularly advisable to avoid use during the first three months of pregnancy. There is no established safety for use in premature infants or neonates, so caution is necessary. Elderly patients are at higher risk for side effects due to decreased physical function, so they should use this medication with caution regarding the dosage and administration interval. During treatment with this medication, interactions with other drugs may occur, so if using other medications, it is essential to inform the doctor or pharmacist. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, rashes, and convulsions may occur, so if suspected, immediate medical attention is required.

Urticaria, severe swelling (angioedema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, mucocutaneous syndrome (Stevens-Johnson syndrome), shock, high fever with severe rashes, blisters, skin peeling, pain in oral/ocular mucosa, dyspnea, asthma attacks, respiratory abnormalities with cough and fever, jaundice (yellowing of skin or eyes), general fatigue, sudden and severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, alteration in consciousness.
