Prior to taking this medicine, it is essential to inform your healthcare provider if you have previously experienced severe allergic reactions to this medication or similar antibiotics. Particularly, patients with infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia are at higher risk of side effects, such as skin rashes, when taking this medication. Patients with liver or kidney impairment may be affected in the metabolism and excretion of this medication, necessitating dosage adjustments and regular monitoring. During treatment, if unusual symptoms such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, skin rash, itching, or shortness of breath occur, you should consult your doctor immediately, as severe allergic reactions or anaphylaxis could occur and close monitoring is required. This medication can cause gastrointestinal disturbances, so it is advisable to take it with food, as severe vomiting or diarrhea may impede drug absorption. Due to antibiotic use, the balance of intestinal bacteria may be disrupted, leading to serious gastrointestinal conditions like pseudomembranous colitis; therefore, if diarrhea or abdominal pain persists, treatment should be discontinued immediately and healthcare personnel should be informed. This medication can interact with other drugs, so it is crucial to inform your healthcare provider about any current medications, especially when combined with anticoagulants or certain antibiotics. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should use this medication cautiously, considering its potential effects on the fetus or infant, under the supervision of a physician. It is not recommended for children, particularly those under 12 years old or weighing less than 40 kg, and elderly patients require careful observation due to the increased risk of side effects from bodily function decline. In the case of overdose, gastrointestinal symptoms, kidney dysfunction, and central nervous system symptoms may occur, necessitating immediate medical attention for appropriate treatment. Finally, store this medication in a dry place below 25 degrees Celsius and take it according to the prescribed duration and dosage from your physician.
