Summary

Main use
Treatment of dermatophyte infections (athlete's foot, tinea corporis, etc.) and onychomycosis
Who uses it
Adults · Children
Adult dosage
As terbinafine, administer 125 mg once, twice a day, or 250 mg once a day. The duration of treatment varies based on the condition: 1) Dermatophytosis Athlete's foot (interdigital and plantar/moccasin type): 2-6 weeks Tinea corporis: 2-4 weeks Tinea cruris: 2-4 weeks 2) Onychomycosis Usually administered for 6 weeks to 3 months. If nails or relatively small toes are infected, or if the patient is very young, the treatment period may be reduced to less than 3 months. The generally sufficient duration for nail infections is usually 3 months, but some patients may require 6 months or more. For patients with slow nail growth, the treatment period may be extended. 2. Pediatric dosing: Administer to children over 2 years of age. There is no experience with children under 2, so it is not recommended for this age group. Tinea capitis: 4 weeks Tinea capitis mostly occurs in children. To prevent recurrence, treatment should be carried out consistently for an appropriately designated period. 1) For children under 20 kg (5 years and younger): 62.5 mg once daily. Due to insufficient experience, the decision to administer should consider the benefits and risks of treatment. 2) For children weighing 20-40 kg (5-12 years): 125 mg once daily. 3) For children over 40 kg (over 12 years): 250 mg once daily. 3. For patients with renal impairment For patients with a creatinine clearance of less than 50 mL/min, reduce the daily dose by 1/2.
