Precautions

This medication is a beta-lactam antibiotic and should not be administered to patients with a history of allergic reactions to penicillins or cephalosporins. Patients with infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia are at increased risk of developing rashes and should be carefully monitored. Patients with a history of liver dysfunction or jaundice may see symptoms reemerge and should avoid this drug. For patients with impaired liver or kidney function, dose adjustments and careful monitoring are necessary as drug concentrations may increase. Patients with allergies, gastrointestinal diseases, elderly patients, or patients in poor nutritional status should also exercise caution when administering this drug. Gastrointestinal side effects such as diarrhea, gastritis, nausea, and vomiting may occur; in severe cases, serious conditions such as pseudomembranous colitis or acute pancreatitis may develop. Symptoms of liver dysfunction have also been reported, particularly more frequently in elderly men, necessitating thorough checks of treatment duration and condition. Rarely, symptoms such as skin rashes, anaphylaxis, blood disorders, and neurological issues may occur; if any abnormal symptoms arise, notify healthcare professionals immediately. It is important to administer antibiotics only for the necessary duration to prevent resistant bacteria, and if a severe allergic reaction occurs, discontinue immediately. Patients should be closely monitored after administration for emergency situations such as anaphylactic shock, and preparations for emergency treatment must be in place. This medication may affect liver and kidney functions, necessitating regular testing, particularly with long-term use. It is best to avoid use in suspected infectious mononucleosis, and if any allergic symptoms or bleeding symptoms emerge, use of the medication should be discontinued immediately and a physician's instructions followed. This medication can interact with other drugs, so inform healthcare professionals if other medications are being taken, especially when using anticoagulants, and blood tests should be checked for status. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should avoid using this medication, particularly during the first three months of pregnancy, and nursing mothers should also be cautious as it may affect the baby. This medication is not recommended for children under 12 years old or under 40 kg in weight, and elderly patients may have a higher risk of side effects due to decreased physical function, so doses and intervals should be adjusted and used cautiously. This medication may affect results of some clinical tests, such as glucose urine tests, so it should be considered during testing. In the event of overdose, gastrointestinal symptoms and central nervous system abnormalities may manifest, and administration must be halted immediately while appropriate treatment is sought. This medication should be stored in a dry place below 25 degrees and should not be used for extended periods without a physician's instructions.
