Adult dose
Adults and children over 12 years old or weighing more than 40 kg should take 250 mg/125 mg of amoxicillin/clavulanate potassium orally three times a day every 8 hours. In cases of severe and respiratory infections, the dosage may be increased to 500 mg/125 mg. For patients with renal impairment, dosage should be adjusted based on creatinine clearance. - Creatinine clearance greater than 30 mL/min: dosage adjustment is not necessary.
Child dose
Children over 12 years old or weighing more than 40 kg should receive the same dosage as adults. In pediatric cases with renal impairment, the dosage should be reduced accordingly.

This medication is used to treat various infections caused by different bacteria. It improves respiratory infections such as acute and chronic bronchitis, lobar and bronchial pneumonia, empyema, lung abscess, tonsillitis, sinusitis, and otitis media. It is also effective against urinary tract infections such as cystitis, urethritis, pyelonephritis, pelvic infections, and gonorrhea. Additionally, it is used to treat skin conditions such as boils, abscesses, soft tissue infections, wound infections, as well as osteomyelitis and dental infections. This medication is effective against a variety of bacteria including Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Salmonella, and Neisseria gonorrhoeae, making it widely applicable for the treatment of various bacterial infections. Therefore, it can be safely used for the treatment of multiple infections.

How to take

Adult dose

Precautions

This medication is a beta-lactam antibiotic and should not be used in patients who are allergic or have had hypersensitivity reactions to penicillin. Patients with infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia are at higher risk of rash and should be monitored closely. Patients with impaired liver function or a history of liver disorders should also use this medication with caution, and dosing intervals should be adjusted in cases of moderate to severe kidney impairment. Patients with allergic dispositions, elderly individuals, or those with poor nutritional status may experience side effects such as vitamin K deficiency, so caution is advised. This medication may interact with other drugs, therefore, it is essential to inform healthcare providers of any other medications being taken. In case of overdose, symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, kidney failure, and convulsions may occur, requiring immediate medical attention. Store in a dry place at or below 25 degrees Celsius and adhere strictly to the prescribed dosage and administration as directed by a physician.
