Peripheral neuropathy or central nervous system symptoms may also occur, so if there are any numbness or sensory abnormalities, it is important to stop taking the medication and consult a physician. This medication should not be used in patients with myasthenia gravis, as it can worsen symptoms; patients with a history of this condition must inform their physician. This medication is not for use in adolescents under 18 years of age or in women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Patients with severely impaired renal function, epilepsy, the elderly, and those with a history of certain heart diseases or aortic diseases should use it cautiously. This medication may increase the risk of seizures, so caution is necessary in cases of a history of convulsions or central nervous system disorders. Dizziness, drowsiness, or visual disturbances may occur while taking this medication, so caution is required when driving or operating machinery. Interactions may occur when taken with anticoagulants, blood glucose-lowering agents, certain antacids, etc., so it is important to inform the physician about any other medications being taken. If skin rash, hives, or severe allergic reactions occur while taking this medication, it is critical to stop taking it immediately and inform the healthcare professionals. In case of overdose, central nervous system symptoms and heart abnormalities may arise, requiring immediate emergency care, as blood dialysis will not remove the medication. If gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea or abdominal pain worsen during the medication, the possibility of pseudomembranous colitis should be suspected, and a physician should be consulted immediately. This medication may cause skin sensitivity reactions when exposed to strong sunlight or artificial UV light, so caution is necessary while going outside. Elderly patients are at an increased risk of side effects due to prolonged retention of the drug in the body from decreased kidney function, so dosages and intervals should be adjusted.
