This medication contains the artificial sweetener aspartame, which is broken down in the body into phenylalanine. Therefore, patients with the genetic disorder phenylketonuria should not take this medication. The daily intake of aspartame should be limited to below the WHO recommended level of 40mg/kg, with a maximum of 2.4g per day for adults. Patients who have previously experienced severe allergic reactions or shock from this medication should not take it. Patients allergic to this medication's components or cephalosporin antibiotics should avoid taking it unless absolutely necessary and should use it very cautiously if required. Those with allergies to penicillin or a family history of asthma, rash, or urticaria should also exercise caution. Patients with severely impaired kidney function may experience delayed excretion of this medication, requiring dose adjustment and monitoring. Patients who have difficulty taking orally, those receiving parenteral nutrition, elderly patients, and those with poor overall health should be closely monitored for signs of vitamin K deficiency. This medication may rarely cause severe allergic reactions such as shock or anaphylaxis; if discomfort, oral abnormalities, shortness of breath, dizziness, sweating, or other symptoms occur, it should be discontinued immediately. If hypersensitivity reactions such as skin rash, urticaria, itching, fever, or arthralgia occur, the medication should be stopped immediately, and appropriate treatment should be sought. If severe gastrointestinal symptoms like pseudomembranous colitis, abdominal pain, or diarrhea arise, treatment should stop immediately. Rarely, respiratory diseases such as pneumonia or eosinophilic pulmonary infiltrates may occur, so if there is any difficulty breathing, cough, or fever, use should cease. Hematological abnormalities like thrombocytopenia or leukopenia have been reported, and seizures or altered consciousness may occur in patients with poor renal function. Severe skin reactions such as severe rashes or Stevens-Johnson syndrome may occur; therefore, skin conditions should be closely monitored. Abnormal liver or kidney function may emerge, necessitating regular testing; if hematuria or worsening kidney function occurs, discontinue use. Disruption of intestinal flora may lead to conditions like stomatitis or candidiasis. Rarely, symptoms of vitamin K and B group deficiencies may appear; thus, monitoring for symptoms is necessary. Headaches, edema, and weakness have also been reported rarely, so any unusual symptoms should be reported. To prevent the development of resistant bacteria, susceptibility testing should be performed, and the medication should only be taken for the minimum required duration. To prevent shock reactions, thorough patient history and skin reaction tests before taking the medication are recommended. Dizziness may occur during use, so caution is needed when driving or operating machinery. If taken for more than 10 days, a blood test should be conducted to check white blood cell counts. Patients with impaired kidney function may need dose adjustments, and if seizures occur, the use should stop immediately, and treatment pursued. Severe skin adverse reactions have been reported; thus, if skin symptoms arise, take the medication off immediately. This medication may increase the burden on the kidneys when used with diuretics or aminoglycoside antibiotics. When taken with probenecid, excretion of this medication may be delayed, raising blood concentration. Antacids or H2 antagonists may reduce the absorption of this medication, so be mindful regarding the timing of doses. Safety during pregnancy has not been established; it should only be used cautiously when necessary, and it is advisable to stop breastfeeding during use. The safety for children, especially neonates, premature infants, and infants under 2 months, has not been sufficiently confirmed. The elderly may experience adverse reactions more easily due to diminished body functions, so dose and administration intervals should be adjusted, with careful monitoring. This medication may affect certain clinical test results, so it is important to inform medical staff during testing. In syrup form, store in a sealed container after preparation and use within 2 weeks, shaking well before use.
