Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with urinary retention, severe gastrointestinal disease, myasthenia gravis, or angle-closure glaucoma. Additionally, it should not be administered to individuals who are hypersensitive to this drug or its components, patients undergoing hemodialysis, patients with severe liver impairment, patients with severe kidney impairment, and moderate liver impairment patients who are taking strong CYP3A4 inhibitors. Use with caution in patients at risk of urinary retention or those with gastrointestinal obstructive diseases or decreased gastrointestinal motility. The maximum daily dosage should be limited in patients with severe kidney impairment or moderate liver impairment, and dosage adjustment is required when used in conjunction with strong CYP3A4 inhibitors. During the use of this medication, side effects such as dry mouth, constipation, blurred vision, urinary retention, and dry eyes may frequently occur. Rarely, severe allergic reactions such as angioedema and anaphylaxis may occur, so if any unusual symptoms arise, immediately discontinue use and consult a healthcare provider. This medication may require caution during driving or operating machinery due to the potential for drowsiness or blurred vision. When taken with other anticholinergic drugs, there may be an increased effect or exacerbation of side effects, so caution should be exercised when combining. There may also be interactions with drugs that increase gastrointestinal motility. This drug is metabolized by the CYP3A4 enzyme, so dosage adjustments or caution is needed when taken with strong CYP3A4 inhibitors or inducers. Safety during pregnancy has not been established, so use must be approached with caution, and breastfeeding should be avoided as this drug may be excreted in breast milk and affect the infant. Safety and efficacy in children have not been verified, so it should not be used in this population. In case of overdose, appropriate treatment should be provided based on the symptoms, avoiding inducing vomiting, and the administration of activated charcoal is recommended. Patients with a history of heart disease or those at risk of QT prolongation must be particularly cautious in case of overdose. This medication is known to have a low risk of genetic toxicity or tumor development even with long-term use, but one should always remain vigilant for adverse reactions and interactions.
