Improvement of postmenopausal osteoporosis
This medication is used for the treatment of osteoporosis occurring in postmenopausal women. Osteoporosis is a condition where bones become weak and the risk of fractures increases. This drug helps increase bone density and reduce the risk of fractures. Therefore, this medication is used to maintain bone health and prevent fractures in postmenopausal women.
Administer 3mg as an intravenous injection every 3 months for 15 - 30 seconds.
This medication must be administered intravenously, and caution is required as administration into arteries or around veins can cause tissue damage. This drug should not be administered to patients who are allergic to this medication or its components, or to those with untreated hypocalcemia. Using this medication may cause gastrointestinal adverse reactions such as gastritis, diarrhea, abdominal pain, indigestion, nausea, and constipation. Additionally, musculoskeletal symptoms such as muscle pain and joint pain have also been reported. Some patients may experience systemic adverse reactions such as influenza-like symptoms, headaches, rashes, and fatigue. During the use of this medication, serum calcium levels may temporarily decrease, so it is important to treat any existing hypocalcemia or bone and mineral metabolism disorders before administration, and to ensure adequate intake of calcium and vitamin D. Patients undergoing dental treatments or those with cancer may have an increased risk of osteonecrosis of the jaw, so it is advisable to have a dental examination before administration and to avoid excessive dental procedures during treatment. Additionally, in rare cases, osteonecrosis of the jaw or external auditory canal has been reported among patients receiving this medication, so caution should be taken if there is pain or discharge from the ear. Long-term use may lead to atypical fractures in the femur or other bones, so if there is pain in the thigh or groin, immediate evaluation is necessary. This medication is excreted by the kidneys; therefore, patients with impaired renal function should undergo regular examinations. Caution is necessary as overdose may affect kidney and liver function. The safety of this medication during pregnancy and lactation has not been established, so it is advisable not to use it. Safety and efficacy in children have not been confirmed, so it is not used in this population. When administering, do not mix with solutions containing calcium, and administer only by intravenous injection. Needles and syringes should not be reused and should be disposed of safely.
Urticaria, angioedema, facial swelling, edema, hypersensitivity reactions, anaphylaxis, shock, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, erythema multiforme, bullous dermatitis, vasculitis, thrombophlebitis, difficulty breathing, exacerbation of asthma, severe edema accompanied by increased blood pressure, skin peeling, multiorgan failure, death, acute renal failure, ocular inflammation (uveitis, scleritis), atypical femoral fracture, osteonecrosis of the external auditory canal, osteonecrosis of the jaw, heart failure, urinary abnormalities, hematuria

This medication should be stored in a sealed container to prevent exposure to air. It is recommended to maintain the storage temperature between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius to preserve the drug's effectiveness and safety.
