This medication is used in adults for the treatment of dermatophyte infections caused by fungi, including athlete's foot, ringworm, and onychomycosis. In children, it is effective for treating tinea capitis. In other words, it helps treat fungal infections that occur on the skin and nails.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

For adults, administer 125 mg of terbinafine once, twice daily, or 250 mg once daily. Precautions

This medication is not recommended for patients with chronic liver disease or active liver disease. Regular liver function tests should be conducted before and during treatment, and the medication should be discontinued immediately if symptoms of liver dysfunction appear. Patients suspected of having liver dysfunction or damage should consult a doctor promptly, as serious side effects such as liver failure can occur rarely. Do not take this medication if there is a hypersensitivity reaction, blood disorders, severe renal failure, in infants under 2 years old, lactating women, or patients with certain genetic lactose intolerance. Patients with decreased kidney function, the elderly, children weighing less than 20 kg, and those with skin conditions should use this medication cautiously, and if serious skin reactions occur, the medication should be discontinued immediately. This medication can cause various side effects; if symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, fatigue, rash, myalgia, headache, visual impairment, etc., occur, notify healthcare professionals immediately. Be cautious while driving or operating machinery, as dizziness and other symptoms may occur. If taken with other medications, interactions may occur, so all medications being taken should be reported to a doctor or pharmacist, and dosage adjustments may be necessary. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should be cautious when using this medication, and breastfeeding women should discontinue breastfeeding during treatment. In case of overdose, symptoms such as headache, nausea, abdominal pain, dizziness may occur, and if these symptoms appear, visit the hospital immediately. Keep this medication out of reach of children and store it at room temperature away from direct sunlight.
