Adult dose
For cimetidine, administer 400 mg 2 times a day (in the morning and at bedtime) orally, or 800 mg once a day (at bedtime). It can also be administered 300 mg 4 times a day (after meals and at bedtime). Up to 1.6 g can be increased 400 mg 4 times a day (after meals and at bedtime). For acute gastritis and acute exacerbation of chronic gastritis, administer 200 mg 2 times a day or 400 mg once a day.
Child dose
Administer 20 to 40 mg per kg of body weight divided into oral doses daily.

This medication is used to treat ulcers of the stomach and duodenum, gastroesophageal reflux disease, recurrent ulcers, anastomotic ulcers, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It also helps improve symptoms of gastric mucosal erosion, bleeding, redness, and swelling that may occur when acute exacerbation of acute and chronic gastritis happens. This medication is used to effectively relieve discomfort caused by gastrointestinal disorders and improve the patient's condition.

How to take

Adult dose

For cimetidine, administer 400 mg 2 times a day (in the morning and at bedtime) orally, or 800 mg once a day (at bedtime). It can also be administered 300 mg 4 times a day (after meals and at bedtime). Up to 1.6 g can be increased 400 mg 4 times a day (after meals and at bedtime). For acute gastritis and acute exacerbation of chronic gastritis, administer 200 mg 2 times a day or 400 mg once a day.

Precautions

This medication may contain glass particles when using glass ampoule injections, so extra caution must be exercised when cutting, especially in children or elderly patients. It should not be administered to patients with hypersensitivity to this drug or those currently taking dofetilide, as the risk of serious arrhythmias may increase when used together. Patients with impaired kidney or liver function, a history of drug allergies, elderly patients, children under 19 years of age, and patients undergoing dialysis require dosage adjustments or changes in administration interval and should be careful as gastric cancer symptoms may be masked. During the medication, various side effects such as leukopenia, liver dysfunction, kidney problems, hypersensitivity, gynecomastia, dyspepsia, neurological disorders, skin rashes may occur, so any unusual symptoms should be promptly discussed with a healthcare professional. If no therapeutic effect is seen or if severe side effects occur, it may be necessary to switch to another treatment method, especially as the risk of pneumonia may increase in the elderly or patients with chronic diseases. This drug can interact with several other medications, so if there are other medications being taken, it should be reported to a healthcare provider, and dosage adjustments may be needed as appropriate. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant may find the administration of this drug unsafe, and it should only be used when the benefits outweigh the risks. Breastfeeding should be discontinued if breastfeeding while taking this medication. Safety in pediatric use has not been adequately proven and should only be used cautiously when necessary, and in the elderly, the dosage and administration interval should be adjusted as drug concentrations may increase due to declining kidney function. Hives, severe swelling, chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, general redness, shock, anaphylactoid reactions, severe rash with fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in oral/ocular mucous membranes, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis (Lyell syndrome), epidermal necrosis, erythema multiforme, exfoliative dermatitis, systemic exfoliative erythema swelling, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attacks, cough accompanied by fever.
