Relief of symptoms of allergic rhinitis and chronic urticaria
This medication alleviates the symptoms of seasonal or perennial allergic rhinitis and is used in the treatment of chronic idiopathic urticaria and dermatitis with accompanying itching.
Adults and children over 6 years: take 1 tablet (as Levocetirizine Hydrochloride 5 mg) orally once a day, regardless of meals. Adjust dosage according to age and symptoms. In patients with kidney impairment, adjust according to kidney function (creatinine clearance (C LCR)). Dosage and frequency based on creatinine clearance: - Mild (50 ≤ C LCR < 80): 1 tablet once a day - Moderate (30 ≤

This medication should not be used in patients who have had an allergic reaction or hypersensitivity to certain ingredients. Patients with severely impaired kidney function or those undergoing hemodialysis should also avoid this medication. Women who are pregnant or potentially pregnant, as well as those who are breastfeeding, should not take this medication. This medication should not be administered to infants under one year of age, and children under six years should be given it in liquid form rather than as tablets. Patients with specific genetic issues such as lactose intolerance should also avoid this medication. Patients with impaired kidney or liver function and elderly patients should use this medication with caution, as its blood concentration may be elevated. Taking this medication may cause neurological symptoms such as drowsiness, headache, dizziness, and fatigue. Also, gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea may occur, and rarely, abnormal heart rhythms, blood dyscrasias, skin rashes, and eye abnormalities may appear. Due to possible drowsiness or fatigue after taking this medication, caution should be exercised when performing tasks that require alertness, such as driving or operating machinery. Additionally, it is recommended to avoid alcohol and drugs that influence the central nervous system, as symptoms may worsen when taken together. This medication may affect urinary excretion, so patients at risk of urinary retention should be particularly careful. Concomitant use with other antihistamines or alcohol is not recommended, and it should be noted that there may be drug interactions; thus, it is essential to inform about any other medications being taken. It is safest for pregnant and breastfeeding women to avoid this medication, as it may be transmitted through breast milk during breastfeeding. For children, do not administer to those under one year of age, and dosage adjustments are necessary for those under 12 years of age. Elderly patients may have reduced kidney function, so starting at a lower dose and monitoring their condition is advisable. It is recommended to discontinue this medication prior to allergy testing. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as drowsiness or agitation may occur, and since there is no specific antidote, it is important to receive treatment based on the symptoms. Special caution is needed as this medication is difficult to remove through hemodialysis.
